I have never associated aroma with soy quality, but it is a very important quality trait of rice. Although you say that it is desired by consumers in the final paragraph of the discussion, I feel that this must be substantiated with references. I believe that protein and oil are the key quality traits of soy, and not aroma, so a link to quality is tenuous.
All the techniques used in this paper have previously been used in rice to show that 2AP is produced by mutations in the BADH2 gene, or as you more correctly say, the amino aldehyde dehydrogenase gene. The only novelty I see is that the same reasons lead to 2AP in soy as in rice. Significant novelty would have been achieved if this paper dealt with the remaining parts of the pathway that are still unknown in rice for the formation of 2AP from delta 1 pyrroline. If this had been presented in soy, it could have had signficant impact in the world of rice aroma.
I am surprised that you did not mention pandan in your introduction, since it is a plant with a lot of 2AP.
The english is not clear in some places, and there are many errors of grammar.

The problem with this paper is that it fails to clearly identify the problem or question it wishes to solve. publication in PBJ requires explicit statements of objectives and the identification of the novelty of the work to be undertaken and how the results have advanced the field. Given the single review we therefore propose that a resubmission would be acceptable where these points are clearly addressed and the comments of the reviewer are addressed.
